AC Milan defender, Massimo Oddo, believes that he will stay at San Siro for the next season, in spite of the right-back having an uneven term with the Rossoneri. The veteran has been prone to injuries this term, which has been a major setback for him at
Milan. The right-back only made seven appearances in the Italian top flight; which has led many to question and speculate about his future with the Diavolo.
However, the Italian International, who won the 2006 World Cup, is still confident that he is worth playing for the Serie A Champions of the 2010/11 season and is keen to return to his good form and contribute to the victories that lie ahead of the men in
red and black jerseys. Recently talking to the media, the defender said:
“I’m happy at Milan. Physically speaking, I think that I can continue to give quite a lot at high levels. I still have a year left on my contract and I hope to stay, but I also hope to play in a few more games.”
Oddo has struggled to find good form and that has been one of the reasons why he was left on the bench and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ignazio-Abate-c16673 was chosen as the first choice right-back by the head coach, Massimiliano Allegri. The defender believes that the Rossoneri are likely
to try and cash-in on him in the transfer market, and should such be the case, Oddo would consider a transfer.
“If it comes to my attention that the club no longer think that I am of any use to them and that they want to sell then I will consider a transfer,” he concluded.
AC Milan have earned the Scudetto this season after a drought of 7 years. The club now aims at revamping the squad by adding match winning players. In this process, many high profile veterans are set to be offloaded, and Oddo just might be one of them.
