Mata Hari Blue likely to win Follow Us On Twitter @Catterickraces Handicap
Mata Hari Blue has a solid chance of winning the Follow Us On Twitter @Catterickraces Handicap at Catterick in England on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. A cash prize of £4,075 will be given to the winner of the class-4 event.
A total of 11 runners will be battling out for glory in the 7 furlong race, which will test their speed. The going will be good to soft ,whereas the action is scheduled to start at 15:20 GMT.
The competition between the top three or four horses will be a close one, and it is difficult to predict who will finish on top of the table.
However, the experience and recent form of, Mata Hari Blue, suggests that she will definitely be fighting at the front today. The bookies have given her a general starting price of 6 to 1, and the punters will also be interested to risk some bets on her.
The six-year-old mare has participated in 41 races so far, but she has managed to win only five of them. This shows that she has a poor winning strike rate, but there have been a total of 15 occasions, where she finished either as a runner-up or third, which proves that she needs a coupleof good victories under her belt to gain that feel good factor.
The John Holt’s trainee made her debut in 2009, and was unable to win her first race for a very long time. However, she finally managed to break the shackles after 11 outings, winning at Catterick in August 2010. She was not rated as the favourite to win back then, but proved her critics wrong.
Since her first victory, the Monsieur Bond’s daughter has been delivering some consistent results, and her form in the ongoing season has also been impressive. She won a race in April and came close to winning on a few more occassions.
The favourite mare finished as a runner-up in her most recent race at Warwick. She was priced 9 to 2 back then, but was unable to make an impression on the winner.
She will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Russ Kennemore, who needs to improve his overall strike rate. The jockey's form in recent times has not been bad, but he still needs to polish his skills in order to match the best in the business.
