Chelsea’s attacker and Spanish international, Juan Mata has gone on to assure everyone that the players at the Stamford Bridge have a lot of faith in Rafa Benitez, and that everyone is backing the manager to achieve big things with the club.
Benitez was brought in as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo earlier in the season.
Being a former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 manager, when he came to the club he was met with a lot of negative comments from the team’s fans.
In fact, in his first game as the team’s manager he was constantly booed by the team’s fans, who felt that he should have never been hired in the first place.
The Blues have not won any game under Benitez as yet, but despite that fact it seems like the players are still supporting the manager, since they feel it is only a matter of time before the team starts producing results that the fans can be proud of.
"We are trusting him because Rafa wants the best for the team," Mata told reporters.
"If we want to win the Club World Cup, or the Premier League or the other competitions, we have to do better.”
"Rafa is a very experienced manager and he's trying to help us. We're trying to help him."
The Spaniard then went on to comment on the way the fans were treating the manager, as he revealed that every player was more focused on producing positive results, as opposed to getting involved in any off the pitch politics.
"I'm not deaf, so we were aware," he added.
"The supporters are free to do whatever they want. My job, our http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684, is to play well and to win. That's all I care about. I always try to be focused on what I'm doing, nothing else.”
With Mata now clearing the air over what the players at the club are thinking, it seems like it is going to be easy sailings for Chelsea and their fans from here on.
However, Benitez is going to have to start producing the results before he can truly win the club’s fans over.
