Spanish international and Chelsea attacker, Juan Mata has admitted that he is feeling a lot better about his physical fitness and ability to produce his best form, given the fact that he got to take an extended break this time around.
Last season, the Spaniard was thrown into the thick of things, as he went on to make a massive fifty three appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. During those appearances, he went on to help the team win the FA Cup and the Champions League trophy.
Following those successful spells, he went on to play in the Euro 2012, which was followed by him being a part of the Spanish Olympic squad.
All in all, the player seemed to be well over worked coming into the new season, which is why a logical decision was made, which saw the team rest the player for the most part, early on in the season.
"We had a talk before the start of the season because, with the Euro cup and the Olympic Games, it must be a hard summer for me," Mata told reporters.
"So I think it was logical. I feel really well as well because of the good run of results for the team. We stayed at the top of the league, so I'm very happy."
The attacker feels that this extended break is only going to help him perform even better, which in the long run is going to help him and the team a whole lot more.
"Before I had these two weeks, I didn't feel bad," continued Mata.
"But I think, with so many games in the season, it will be good for me and now I feel very, very good. I think it was a nice break for me. Two weeks resting, trying to get out of football and now I feel really fit."
The Blues are now going to be facing FC Nordsjaelland in the UEFA Champions League this week, which will see Mata go on and return to the team, following a brilliant display against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 over the weekend.
It is now up to Mata to prove his worth, and display just how fresh he is following his break.
