Chelsea’s Juan Mata has admitting that he won’t let his drop from the Spanish squad impact his club performances, as he hopes to be able to give it his all every time he plays a game for the Blues.
The midfielder went on to put in a brilliant performance against Tottenham this past weekend. After Chelsea went down by two goals to one, Mata stepped up and helped the team win by four goals to two at the end of the game.
The Spaniard scored two goals and picked up an assist, as he went on to become the man of the match, just when his team needed him to.
Despite Mata being snubbed from the World Cup qualifiers team, it seems like he isn’t too concerned with his international career, as he hopes for his club performances to win the national team’s manager over.
Many feel that Mata went into the game against Tottenham to prove a point, and to try and convince the manager that he was someone who the team really needed.
However, when talking about the game against the London club this past weekend, and just how he played in it, the Blues superstar is reported to have said: "I don't know [whether anyone was watching from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011]. I just try to improve with every Chelsea game
I play"
"I just wanted to do my best for my team and in this moment I am feeling really well.”
"I had another chance for a goal but Fernando [Torres] was in a better position than me to score.”
"But the most important thing for me was victory. Before the game we wanted to stay top of the league and we are still there."
Mata went on to take an extended break at the start of the season, but now that he is running at a maximum, it seems like there is no looking back for the player.
He seems to be getting better with time, and should he be able to improve even further, he is bound to help http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 achieve big things this season.
It is now a wait to see just how far Mata can take Chelsea this season, and whether he can get a call up back to the national team or not.
