Match-fixing, PCB, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 and his clan of clowns
Just when one would have thought that nothing else could possibly go wrong with Pakistan cricket, for every possible catastrophe that the cricketing fan could fathom has happened with Pakistan cricket in the past ranging from dope charges, to infighting, to ball biting, to match fixing, to u-turn on decisions, to banning the entire team, to disgracing cricketing heroes - http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 is one country that has seen it all. After going through so much s**t, with every possible aspect going wrong with cricket, some would have felt that maybe things can’t get worse than this. Unfortunately they have been fooled yet again.
Pakistanis have this certain way of going about things. One fine day, two brothers were sitting in their house in Lahore, bored with nothing to do. Their universities were closed, since apparently there was a strike there. These two particular Punjabi brothers, decided to make a computer virus. Apparently, this was ‘the first’ computer virus ever made for MS Dos. It infected millions of computers all across planet Earth. These two brothers now have their very own company which is known as brain net.
Pakistanis have this uncanny way of doing something completely incredulous one way or another. These two brothers were geniuses without a doubt, and their talent needed recognition. While speaking of talent, the biggest prize must go to Professor/Dr/His Excellency Ijaz Butt and his clan of clowns. Growing up with kids around us, each of us would be more than aware of a particular cartoon character that children seem to be very fond of, Mojo Jojo from the Power Puff girls. Well, looking at the way things are being run at the PCB Headquarters in Lahore, it seems like Mojo Jojo has infested the brains of those sitting in the echelons of power in the PCB. This has unfortunately seemed to be the case with most people heading towards the PCB. They successfully make a hash out of it.
We understand that personal relations are very important to the Pakistan government. These greater mortals surely deserve more than the proletariat. The least the cricket fans demand is to ensure that those appointed know their job, while they are at it. If nepotism is to be promoted, than the least the government could do is to appoint a monkey to take care of the banana business, and leave the cows for milk production. Unfortunately, everything on the contrary takes place in the country. The Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Cricket Board has failed to take action against the PCB chairman. Apparently Ijaz Butt turns out to be the brother-in-law of Pakistan’s Defence Minister. If that makes a person competent to become the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, then half of Pakistan would like to seek adoption with his highness, the defence minister.
The recent fiasco at Lords has left the entire country hanging their heads in shame. The national cricket team are the ambassadors of Pakistan. They project this country overseas, and if they continue to bite balls, hit each other with the bat, and indulge in frivolous proclivities then they should rather stay at home. A wise man once said, if a c**p is put in a container it might take the shape of a container, but it still remains a piece of c**p. Pakistan Cricket Board has a tendency of pampering their cricket players to the extent that the result is disaster. They have over the years, made a habit of ignoring offenders and pushing things under the carpet. By making such exceptions for players, they set a very bad precedent with younger players expecting to be meted with the same treatment.
If Mohammad Asif had previously been tested positive for Nandrolone, and then was involved in the preposterous case of being caught in Dubai with weed in his wallet, one cannot fathom why the PCB bends over backwards to give such players respite. Until and unless the constitution of PCB and the laws that regulate it, are not followed to the letter we cannot expect the players to stop pissing on what we called Pakistan cricket.
