Match fixing allegations: against Pakistan-some proof; against England-no proof

Pakistan Cricket Board’s Chairman, Ejaz Butt, seems to have melted under the pressure of match-fixing episodes and also the breaking stories that have been surfacing around almost daily since the day Pakistan players were first caught in spot-fixing scandal.
Ejaz butt has definitely mishandled the issue as his recent words appear to have turned the support of English Cricket Board, team and fans for Pakistan team into animosity with former English Captain, Sir Ian Botham moving a step further to call for a ban
on the Pakistan team from playing international cricket.
PCB Chairman, while accusing the English players in an interview, said that there has been talk of English cricketers taking big amounts of money from the bookies. Infuriated; the ECB has warned of legal action against Mr. Butt unless he apologizes for his
remarks while also claiming that it maintains a zero tolerance policy against corruption in the gentleman’s game.
Meanwhile, Botham, who usually is considered a cool customer, must have felt gutted otherwise; he wouldn’t have given such a somewhat odd statement of scratching the green caps. Things can go from bad to worse if the International Cricket Council seriously
ponders over the matter as all the evidence available seems to be against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755.
Earlier, Mr. Ejaz was on the back foot while defending his three accused players which included Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir. It looks as if the successful sting operation by the News of the world has unveiled the darker side of the picture
and has uncovered the evil faces of some cricketers. Moreover, Yasir Hameed’s video further supports the case against the tainted-trio of Pakistan as he too has lashed out on his team mates for receiving bribes regularly.
At present, the situation is so that the spot fixing allegations against Pakistan seem to be based on some sort of evidence whether it is a video recording or image, although, their authenticity is yet to be confirmed while the match fixing allegations leveled
by Mr. Ejaz against the English players simply appear to be words with no proof.
This can land Pakistan in serious trouble as the English skipper, Andrew Strauss, has announced to sue Mr. Ejaz on the case of defamation because he and his team mates have all gone through some serious mental anxiety after his accusations. The whole situation
has boiled up and England were considering quitting the series but they decided otherwise after thorough consideration.
Former Pakistan greats have also come down harsh on Mr. Ejaz saying that his statements can further isolate Pakistan Cricket.
