Matches added to Ortiz-Berto rematch showtime – Boxing news
DiBella Entertainment and Golden Boy Promotions have added two more fights to the SHOWTIME Championship Boxing event which is to be held on February 11, 2012.
The event is already being headlined by the rematch between Victor Ortiz and Andre Berto, a match that is supposedly going to be the most enthralling one of 2012. Now, with the addition of two more highly anticipated matches for the event that will be held
at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Golden Boy and DiBella Entertainment are sure that the event will be way more electrifying than the crowd can expect.
Tickets for the show are priced at $50, $100, $150 and $300, and can be brought from nearly all Las Vegas’ Ticketmaster locations. Tickets can also be booked on phone or through MGM’s or Ticketmaster’s website.
Among the new matches, the first one will be between Erislandy Lara and Ronald Hearns. Erislandy Lara has been absent from the industry for quite some time now following his controversial bout against Paul Williams.
The bout between Ronald and Lara will be a 10-round junior middleweight one and will be held right before the main event, whereas the other newly added bout of Gary Russell Jr. and Dat Nguyen will open the SHOWTIME Championship Boxing event. Dat Nguyen will
take on Gary Russell Jr., the consensus 2011 “Prospect of the Year” award winner, in a 10-round featherweight bout.
The two newly added fights have spiced up the event even more. Previously, the event was only being promoted on the basis of the Ortiz-Berto rematch, but now things have changed. The return of Erislandy Lara will surely excited viewers and since he is taking
on his fellow fighter, Ronald, it will be even more enthralling.
Similarly, the bout between the Vietnamese Dat Nguyen and Gary Russell Jr. has already acquired much attention of the public and will prove to be the landmark for both the promotional agencies. The SHOWTIME Boxing Championship Event is right now being considered
as the biggest boxing event of 2012 as of yet.
The event is being promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and DiBella Entertainment. It will be aired live on SHOWTIME at 9:00 pm ET/PT.
