  2. sprinkle a couple spoons of epsom salt underneath them ..2 spoons per foot of plant heigth....A little lime is also good if not straight hydrated lime..home depot sells lime in the organic bags for about 5.00 that is in pellet form and not straight lime..this bag will give you calcium and sulpher slowly released for the plants..epsom salt gives it magnesium and sulpher as well....

True...The sulfur from the matches is good for the soil and helps the Tomatoes plants grow larger and keeps away certain bugs in the soil.  Same goes for Green Bell Pepper plants.  Dig a hole for the plants, light and blow out matches, using whole book...place in hole with plants, cover with dirt. Treat them like any other vegetable plant for proper growth, water etc.  Much cheaper way than nursery products. Watch them grow larger and better this year. Old time trick that works.  TRY IT!
