  1. Doesn't matter at all, just find a driver that you feel comfortable swinging.  Most people don't have the same brand irons as driver/woods.  Some companies are better known for their irons/hybrids while other brands are best know for their drivers.

  2. Don't buy the Golfsmith brand drivers...i've known a number of people who have had problems with the heads cracking. Plus their brand has no resale value at all...you're better off buying a driver that's been discontinued.

  3. You should use whatever clubs work the best for you. If that means a miss matched set then so be it. However, for consistency, your irons should all be the same and woods should be all the same.

Not to mention it looks classier to have a matched set. And as we all know it is better to look good than to be good.

  4. No it really doesn't matter, but consider this....

If your clubs don't match, they could have different feels, etc when you hit the ball which may make consistency something you have a problem with. I noticed this when i had a mixed set of irons. usually it's not a problem as most people have different brand drivers and woods, then irons and wedges. (if you have more than one). I'd steer clear of mixed iron sets. If your 3-pw matches i think nomatter what you do you'll be ok. Try to keep the wedges the same too. Last thing i'd recommend is  at least get them all regripped to match. it'll help with the feel on your hands.

  5. If you have clubs from the same company, then they will probably make it easier for you to develop one swing that works on all clubs.  If you have different brands in your bag - I do - then you need to adjust a little, say between your hybrids and your irons.

  6. Doesn't matter.

  7. Does not matter, you will probably want to buy the clubs that suit you the best - regardless of wether they match or not.
