Matching subs with the right amp?

ok, i'm buying two volfenhag 12's rated at 1100(rms) a peace and i was wondering what kind of amp or amps sould i get and what kind of wattage too. If you have any other info on subs, like how to tell when they're about to blow or whats that smell coming from my current set subs.

i know that HIFONICS amps have some crazy power so on high end of that brand should be more than enough like the xxv, or you can bridge two mtx amps, that is another good brand. you need the RMS wattage to be equal to your sube +/- 200 Watts , if you go way more or way less you might blow either the subs or the amps

as for the smell, new subs have their distinct smell so if the have had the same odor since you bought them, you are fine
