  1. Hello,

every health insurance should accept you but might not cover the cost or will charge you a fortune for coverage. There is (as far as I know) a program from the government that helps pregnant women, of course that won't happen if you make a very good salary. Just check with your government agencies for this type of thing, but be sue to rather spend $500 bucks per visit than not going at all.... you want your baby to be healthy. Good luck.

  2. You say you don't qualify-but have you actually applied? Being pregnant allows a higher income. You hmay have to pay a portion every month (share of cost).

If that isn't your answer, ask your OB for a cash rate. It will be discounted. Also check at the hospital you plan on delivering at. They will also have a cash rate. Make sure you ask about things like epidurals and pediatrician charges for the well check at the hospital and circumcision if applicable.

Other options are seeking care at County Facilities or "Teaching" facilities. You may not have the same doctor ecery time you go, but charges are usually based on a sliding scale.

...and pray you don't have complications. Of course you are also going to want to plan ahead for insurance for that little bundle. Find an independant agent if you area and set up the insurance ahead of time so that all you need to do is the final application process once (s)he is born.

  3. There are a lot of state and federal programs for those without insurance who are pregnant. In general, government wants people to deliver healthy babies, so they make these programs available, even if you don't qualify for Medicaid. No guarantees, but I've been surprised at what is available in my state to people at different income levels.

I suggest contacting the folks at www.coverageforall.org

They are non-profit and have information on programs for most states.  Talk to Ernie, not just the regular operators, since he heads the unit and is the best resource.

  4. After looking around if you can not find any insurance to cover you, you may need to look into a discount health benefits company.  For more information about the benefits etc go to www.everyonebenefits.com/trodgers
