I really want to sit in my seat( a temp is covering my position) but I dont trust my manager as I feel she will dump me elsewhere in the large office, or even take roles away from me that I was doing before... am I feeling paranoid?

  1. I was worried too when I left for 2 months, but once i came back, it was completely different, everyone respected me and i had my own office desk by the window, everything was there like it was before. Nothing has changed...so don't get paranoid...u had maternity right to leave and they cannot change anything or move you without talking to u first. So when u're back to work, walk to ur desk and own it...if there is problem, talk to human resource and inform them if ur boss is not cooperating with you. Right now focus on ur baby and send them photo update of ur birth baby!

  2. Just walk in and say get the h**l out of my chair, when you have been here as long as me you can sit where you want.

  3. No, if you don't feel the manager is trustworthy, then you may not be paranoid. Maybe, if you really need to know what will happen, call the manager and feel them out on their ideas for you when you go back. Maybe mention you're really looking forward to your seat. I did something like this, and, good and bad, I knew exactly where I stood. I then could make the decisions I needed to.
