I went to Motherhood today and bought a few pairs of jeans because my old ones are getting too tight and uncomfortable. lol They have alot of nice stuff there but my question is... "IS THERE ANYWHERE ELSE TO SHOP THAT IS POSSIBLY CHEAPER?" I ask because these are only clothes that are going to be worn for nine months. Thanks!

  1. Go to Torrid its a plus size store but they carry size 0 and 1 which are perfect to fit over your growing belly.  I'm not plus size at all but the shirts are super cute and you can wear them again and again.  There not maternity.  Its in the mall or check them out on line.  But my suggestion get the size 0.  I'm now 38 weeks and wearing the size 1 from them.

  2. Target Has Super cute maternity clothes. You can also just by regular clothes just in bigger sizes. Thats what i do, for now at least

  3. Try thrift stores. Often there are plenty of good maternity clothes because the women who donated them only wore them for a few months and then didn't need them anymore. Don't be afraid to go second hand!

  4. walmart is where i bought most of mine when they were on sale but on craigslist.com you can find alot of new and used things really really cheap.

  5. You can find cute maternity clothes at Target, Walmart, and Kmart.  Old Navy has some online.  With all three of my pregnancies, I wore maternity bottoms but regular tops.. just a bigger size than I normally wear.  this way I could wear them after the baby was born and not feel weird still wearing maternity clothes.

  6. Go to walmart, target, marshalls, tj max, burlington...Places like that. Thats where I'm shopping for pants..

Oh and I wouldnt buy clothes way bigger b/c sometimes on certain pants the waist line may be tighter than the rest of the fit. I read that maternity pants are made for your big spacious tummy...

  7. I agree with Kristin.

Other than those places, thrift shops often have gently used maternity clothing (not always the cutest), but check out Ebay.  Some people even sell maternity "lots", which is basically a wardrobe for really affordable prices.

  8. No way, don't go to deparment stores unless they are having a sale/clearance. Although, I know that Old Navy has pretty cheap Maternity clothing. But, like you said, you are only going to wear them for 9 months, and even if you do get preggo again, do you want to be stuck wearing the same clothes all over? Keep your eye out for yard sales, and check at consignment stores, those two will definately be the cheapest!!

    Congratulations, Mommy!

  9. You can try belks or jcpenneys, hit up the sales!

  10. Alot of places have great maternity clothes that are cheap and still look great.

Walmart and Target are my favorites but you can check out any department store like Jcpennys, Sears or Boscovs.

I'm sure you'll find things you like at one of those stores for a great price!

  11. The simple answer is YES!  There are maternity departments in many clothing stores.  Motherhood does have some pretty nice sales sometimes, but that is the only time I buy from there.

My mom found some nice maternity clothes at a thrift store!  I was amazed that they were in such nice shape and were name brands too.

Also consider the belly band!  It will increase your ward robe for all stages of pregnancy and postpartum.  I bought some at baby be mine maternity on clearance and have hardly spent a day not wearing one since I got them!

  12. Do you have a K-Mart, WalMart, Target, Meijer's?  Penny's sells maternity clothing, Sear does too.

What you could do is invest in some larger than what you would normally wear tops - and with the style that is so popular now, you could wear them even after your pregnancy.  Then buy a couple of pairs of pants with an elastic waist.

You don't need to spend a fortune for maternity clothes.  Do you have any friends or family members who have had infants recently that you could borrow some maternity clothes from?  That's what we do.

    Good luck.

  13. Target and Walmart are my best friends for maternity clothes, I got a few outfits from mother hood for when i need to dress up a little, but i agree with you, they cost too much for only 9 months!!!
