  1. if you were not working at any point in your pregnancy, you are not entitled to any type of payment. unfortunately being a student cant get you any money. if you had a job however, they might have to pay you for your maternity leave. every work place is different im sure. if you need help with money i would contact your local family/social service department.

  2. OK it depends on if you are working or not. If not you don't get Statutory Maternity Pay, but you do get Maternioty Allowance and the job centre is probably the best place to find out more or the dierctgov website is a really useful source of information.

  3. I was in the same position - I went to college as a mature student and got pregnant half way through the course. I was due beginning Nov, and had not been working since end of June the previous year, and I was entitled to ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, even though I'd paid taxes for 5 years previously.

  4. your job should pay

  5. Are you in the US?  If so, you aren't entitled to anything.

    EDIT:  Here you go:

From what I can tell, it looks like you aren't eligible, but contact your local agency to find out for certain.

  6. As you are not working you arn't entitled to any maternity pay. You only get that if you work. You don't just get paid for having a baby! You can possibly claim income support if you are single, you might get housing benefit or council tax benefit (i don't know how much you might get or the ins and outs of it as i don't claim anything).

When baby comes you will get child benefit £17 per week and might get child tax credit. If your partner works over 30 hours a week you can claim working tax credit.

  7. none

  8. You are only eligible for maternity pay if you have a job that actually pays out for maternity. Most jobs won't pay you during leave unless you are enrolled in short term disability. But they will allow you 3 months time off without pay.

  9. Your not in-titled to anything unless you had some sort of plan with your employer.
