Mateusz Dynak clears first hurdle in Men’s Singles qualification round – Polish Open Update
Men’s Singles campaigner Mateusz Dynak elevated his chances to march into the main draw of Polish Open as he outshined Christoph Syrch in the qualification round on August 30, 2012.
This hard fought tussle prolonged for 45 minutes before ending with final result of 21-18, 18-21 and 21-17.
The native shuttler relished full benefits of the home ground to seal a 2-1 victory over the Austrian player.
Now Mateusz is scheduled to meet a higher ranked Swedish shuttler Albin Carl Hjelm in the second stage of the qualification round. He will put an extra effort in following the match as any blunder will cost him a main round entry.
Earlier in his opening match, he set the ball rolling straight in the first set and maintained that rhythm all the way to the third game.
Though, he took some time to get on the right track in the opening game but he never looked back after gaining the required momentum.
Mateusz remained under his rival’s influence until mid-game break but he accelerated the pace immediately after the interval and caught Christoph at the score of 14-14.
At this stage, he stepped forward with some valuable points in a row and finished the first set with a favourable figure of 21-18.
The second set was a replay of the previous one but in reverse manner as Christoph made amends by displaying elevated craft.
This time the Austrian campaigner dazzled his challenger with a lustrous performance. He kept a low profile in the beginning and then made the difference with a brisk attack immediately after half time.
He made swift progress with three consecutive points after 14-9 and then levelled the score by adding five points to the total.
Christoph played with great precision and placed a decisive margin of 21-18 to setup a nerve-racking third set.
The decider proved captivating as both shuttlers made every effort to oust the opponent in this segment.
They did not allow each other to establish a permanent lead and stayed close all the way to final moments.
Finally, this competitive match-up ended when Mateusz cruised to victory with a convincing figure of 21-17.
