Question: Maple street

Solution: The answer is 8.

To do this you must know about proportions within a right triangle. Specifically GEOMETRIC MEAN(simple proportion)

STEP 1: Use variables

x=part of hypotenuse(of big right triangle) closest to idenitified leg

STEP 2: Set up proportion

Length of leg/something = something/length of leg

The somethings are the two parts of the hypotenus closest to the identified leg(This is the whole hypotenuse and the secution of the hypotenuse)

REMINDER: The Hypotenuse had two distinct pieces due to the altitude/line being drawn from a vertex to the hypotenuse

NOTE: I only remember the answer but that is the BASIC idea

  1. Both of the part 4's--the logarithm one and the one with forces/resultants?? I never learned that.

  2. what were the mult choice answers

  3. the answer to the force problem is 56.4 degrees and 79 pounds. not 56.1

im sure cuz i triple checked it on my calculator

  4. I'm a freshman, and i skipped over the semester where proofs and all that stuff was learned, so i had NO idea what i was doing with the proofs.. but i think i mightve gotten it.. can someone tell me if i mightve gotten full credit for this?

my answer was along the lines of..

i made two columns.. statement and reason

first i put the given info. and put given. then i put that the two lines have equal slopes and under the reason column i showed the work

then i put that they are parallel and for the reason i put that equal slopes means they are parallel

was that good enough for full credit? >_>

  5. you dont have to really know about the proportions of a rigth triangle or wutever, u can turn it into a circle and use the tangentsquared=whole thing x outer part

    (the roads questions)

  6. actually. i think that the force question, the angle was 24.4. there were a lot of ppl that got the 56 answer, but i dont think thats correct. but the 79 for the resultant is correct. the log question was you just needed to kno you log rules. when its subtraction, its division, and when its addition its multiplication, when theres a number infront of the log its an exponent :D

  7. the one with the poplar elm fern and maple streets...wtf? how do u do it????? and whats the answer

edittt..aaah thanks so much thats what i did =]] but i literally stared at it for an hour and a half and gave up so i wasl ike s***w that im just gonna make something up lol im soo happy thanks !!
