  1. 5.75 u r kidding right? Is this a little softball game so you can have your friends pad their ratings?

  2. Easy, remember, 5 3/4 = 23/4. This is because 20/4 = 5 & you just add 3/4 to it & you get 23/4. When doing fractions & you have a whole number like the 5, in this example, you just multiply 5 X 4 which is the denominator in the 3/4. This gives you 20/4 & you just keep that denominator. Now, reduce 20/4 & this equals 5, so you've jsut proved your answer correct.

Now that we know the answer, in fractional form, is 23/4, we can cover it to decimal form. To do this you just divide 4 into 23 & this equals 5.75. Remember, 4 goes into 20, 5 times so we know the answer is over 5. Since 4 X 6 = 24, the answer is less than 6.

Another way of looking at it, is to do the problem in two parts. You already have the whole number 5, so just leave that alone. Now, you just need to know that 3/4 equals .75 & then just add it to 5 & you get 5.75.

Finally, if you have any more problems, converting from fractions to decimals is always a division problem. If you need any proof then just prove it with a a calculator.

  3. well 5 is a whole number so that goes before the decimal and 3/4 is equivalent to 75% so thats . 75 so the answer would be 5.75

  4. The part after a decimal point is basically the numerator of a fraction over 100. So since you multiply 4 by 25 to get 100, multiply 3 by 25. This is 75. So the answer is 5.75.
