Math Help Needed before August 19,2008

ok.. I'm going to high school this year..I'm a freshman and starting geometry/ Algebra 2. [ I forgot which one lol] I learned how to figure this out but I forgot! Hahaha so I need help...2/3 3k/4 = 71/12

anyone knows how to do it? PLEASE HELP ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

is it (2/3)+(3k/4) = (71/12) ?

then do this

(2/3)(4/4) + (3k/4)(3/3) = (71/12)

8/12 + 9k/12 = 71/12

8 + 9k = 71

9k = 63

k=7
