  1. Natural:  non decimal numbers like 1, 7, 10, 223, etc. not including zero.

Wholes:  same as naturals, but includes zero.

Integers:  same as wholes, but also includes negative numbers, like -7, -9, -55, etc.  No decimals still.

Rational:  Same as integers, but it also includes all integer fractions, such as 7/9, 2/3, 1/2, 99/111.  Keep in mind that whole numbers can be represented as fractions.  6/3 = 2.

Irrational:  infinite decimals that CAN'T be represented by fractions.  Such as the value pi (3.14....) and the exponential value 'e' (2.7.....)

Real:  Includes everything, irrational, rational, integers, etc.  The only thing it doesn't include is the square roots of real numbers and things divide by zero, and other things you can't do.

So.  2.9 + 3.7.  Add each place together, so add the tenths together and the ones and you get 6.6.  It belongs to Reals and Rationals only.

Hope you can get it from there!

  2. Integers are whole numbers.

    Whole numbers are positive integers like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. No decimals.

Real numbers ARE irrational and rational numbers.

Rational numbers are things like 2.53 or 3242.95. Anything that CAN BE SOLVED.

Irrational numbers are things like pi or 2.34343434...

Natural numbers are positive whole numbers. :]

  3. What you need is a definition for each of those sets of numbers.  A good thing to do would be to Google each one.  Search for:

    Real numbers

    Irrational numbers

    Rational numbers

    Integer numbers

    Whole numbers

    Natural numbers

This will get you started.  At least you will be able to ask your teacher more specific questions.  If your teacher is really a waste, then try to find a smart friend, or maybe a tutor.  What about your parents ?

A word of caution---some of these definitions will be overlapping and fuzzy.  That is, some of the sets are not that clearly defined.  Don't get too technical.  Again, if you have questions, try to be specific and explicit.  Good luck.

Also, none of the answers is irrational.

What grade are you in ?

  4. I know for a fact that number 3 1-5 = -4

  5. c'mon hunie, that **** is simple.  Just know the diference between the real #s irrational ratioanl integers wholes and naturals. its not tht hard if u know the difference then u can do it. i will give u sum hints. wat do u think irrational means. c'mon!!! its f****n simple as pie
