  1. d = sqrt((x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2)

    in this case:

    sqrt((5 - -10)^2 + (5-1)^2) =

    sqrt((15)^2 + 4^2) =

    sqrt(225+16) = sqrt(241) ~ 15.52

  2. i would use the pythagareom(sp) formula

    a^2 + b^2 = c^2

    15^2 + 4^2 = c^2

    225 + 16 = c^2

    c = 15.524

  3. = √(-10-5)² + (1-5)²   (note: the whole thing is squarerooted.)

    = √(-15)²  + (-4)²

    = √241

    = 15.524

  4. d= square root of x2-x1 squared plus y2-y1 squared so if you plug in the numbers you get

    (5-(-10) squared + (5-1) squared which works out to the square root of 241 which is 15.4
