The first part of the problem reads: Students have discovered that when they take a rectangle and double the length and width they cam predict the area of the new rectangle.So, basically all you have to do is multiply the original rectangle's area by 4; I understood that much, but then it says: Describe in words (like I'd describe in hand signals) *why* this relationship occurs every time we double the length and width. What do I say?
