Fill in the chart with the letters A-P (H and O have been filled out already) using these guidlines:

1. E is in the same row as K

2. M is in a corner

3. C is in a corner, too

4. D is in the right column

3. J is in the right column as well

4. P is not in the top row

5. B is in the top row

6. No row or column can have two consecutive letters (ex: B,C or O,P, ect.)

7. No row or column can have more than one vowel.

  1. this is so hard! i've been working on it for like an hour. whatever teacher gave this to you is evil and wants you to have no social life lol

but yeah i figured out C has to be in the bottom left corner, I cannot be in the 2nd to the left column or the 2nd down row. everything else is so complicated!

  2. It's probably easiest to start with the corners.  You know that M and C are in corners, and since B is in the top row, C can't be in that row (rule #6).  Also, because of rules 6 and 7, I has to be in a corner too.

I'd do the elimination thing and try to work from the corners:

    - since D is in the right column and C can't be in the top row, it must be in the bottom left corner.

    - since J is in the right column, I can't be in one of the right corners, so it must be in the top left corner.

    so now you have:

    I - - -

    -H- -

    - -O-

    C- - -

Because of I and O, there are only three places that E can go: bottom row, 2nd column; 2nd row, right column; or bottom row, right column.  But D is in the right column, which rules out two of the potential "E" spots.  So E must be in the bottom row, 2nd column.... and since E and K are in the same row but K can't be in the right column (J is in the right column), K must be next to E.

Okay I'm going to keep working on this cause I'm a nerd and like these things, but I'm not posting any more hints unless you really want them!  I will tell you that my next step will be to figure out where A is, then J.  Good luck!

  3. the easiest thing to do is to create a big old chart with all the letters in them, then follow the rules and erase the once that don't fit based on the rule, for example, rule 2 says m is in a corner, so you erase M from all the squares, but the one in the corner, do the same with C,  and so on.  It should eliminate them down.

  4. B  M O D

    P C J E
