1.) In terms of pi, what length of metal bar do you need to make a basketball hoop with a diameter of 18 inches? Please show your work in the space provided, including the units.

2.)The tile area of the park is made up of small circular tile pieces, each with a radius of 15 cm. What is the circumference of each circular tile, if pi = 3.14? Please show your work in the space provided including the units.

3.)The two longer sides of a play area measure 204 feet and 192 feet. The two shorter sides measure 92 feet and 54 feet. What is the perimeter of the lot? Please show your work in the space provided including the units.

4.)A regulation baseball diamond is 90 feet square. That means the distance to each base is 90 feet. If this is laid out in a field 172 feet by 301 feet, how much further is the distance around the whole field than that around the infield? Please show your work in the space provided including the units.

  1. 1: looking for circumference which = 2 * pi* radius so your answer is 2*pi*9=18 pi

    2: using same equation as #1 2*3.14*15 will give your answer

    3:  perimeter is just the distance around it, just add the 4 numbers

    4: perimeter 1 - perimeter 2 = (172+172+301+301) - (90+90+90+90) = 586 ft
