  1. I believe this problem has no solutions.

    8x - (4x + 7) = 5

    8x (-4x - 7) = 5

    -32x^2 - 56x = 5

    0 = 32x^2 + 56x + 5 (can't factor so used quadratic formula)

    = (-7 + square root of 39)/8 or (-7 - square root of 39)/8

    Plugged it into the equation and was not set to 5. Not 100% sure if I am correct but I came up with No Solutions as my answer.

  2. 8X - (4X + 7) = 5

    8X -4X -7 = 5

    4X = 12

    X = 3

  3. 8x - (4x + 7) = 5

    =8x-4x-7=5

    =4x=5+7

    =4x=12

    =x=3
