Okay, I need you to tell me how you did this please. (the < are supposed to show that an angle symbol. sorry) the question is:

If m<5=3x-6, and m<6=4x+4, then what does x equal?

I don't understand this problem at all. I just started this class, and its a class not even intended for my grade level to take. so far, this is the only problem I dont understand. PLEASE HELP!

  1. You first have to know if the angles are equal or complementary or supplementary. If they are equal, set 3x - 6 = 4x + 4; x = -10. So, they probably are not equal since there is a negative answer. If supplementary, then 3x-6+4x+4 = 180; 7x = 182; x = 26. Then the angles are 72 degrees and 108 degrees. If they are complementary, set them equal to 90 and solve.
