    when you multiply them you don't change the denominator.

  6. When adding/subtracting two fractions with identical denominators simply add/subtract the numerators and maintain the denominator.

    ie: 3/7 + 4/7 = (3+4)/7 = 7/7 = 1

    3/7 - 4/7 = (3-4)/7 = -1/7
