  1. 2x+4+3x+6=90

    5x+10=90

    5x=80

    x=16

  2. If the angles are complementary it means they add up to 90. So just add the two angles and simplify for x.

    2x+4+3x+6=90

    5x+10=90

    5x=80

    x=16

  3. They have to add up to 90 degrees, so

    (2x+4)+(3x+6)=90

    Simplifies to

    5x+10=90

    take away 10 from both sides

    5x=80

    Divide by 5

    x=16
