  1. The answer is sometimes because a could represent a negative number such as -3 and two negative numbers cancels to be a positive.

  2. well you can replace the "a" variable with a number to find out

    so -3(5) is -15

    and -3(-5) is 15

and since one of the answers is a negative, the expression is sometimes a negative number

  3. It is sometimes a negative number, because if a = 2, then the product is a negative 6. Although, if a = -2, then the product is a positive 6.

  4. the answer is always cause you don't have a problem or anything to change -3a into a positive number so its always don't hold me to it im in calculus its been a while sense 8th grade but im pretty sure that's right
