  1. 1. Alvin plays soccer; Betina plays racquetball; Chang plays tennis.

    2. 2,300

    3. 57 elk

    4. 177 coyote

    5. Troy, Thomas, Terry, Ted.

    6. Biased. Mr Soong loses to Ms Lopez in terms of experiences, but though he is young does not mean that Ms Lopez is old.

    7. Fair.

First 5 questions are all about probability really

  2. Didn't think about looking in the back of the chapter/text, did you? The answers are usually there.

1 & 5 are pure logic problems. (And the type of problem that gives young and old mathemeticians fits.)

    2, 3, & 4 are simple math problems. i.e.: for #3, tagged/sample=tagged/X Solve for X.

    6 & 7 make no sense.

    Good Luck!
