On Monday, he drives at an average rate of 60 km/hr and is one minute early to work. If he left home at the same time each day, what is the distance Mr. Newton travels from home (one way) to work?

the difference between 1 minute late and 1 minute early is 2 minutes, which is 1/30 hour

so,

x/52 - x/60 = 1/30

x = 13 miles
