  1. If 5 is opposite 12, then 4 is opposite 11, 3 is opposite 10, 2 is opposite 9, and 1 is opposite 8,  and the last player is opposite 7, the second to last player is opposite 6, and the third to last player is opposite 5.  12 is the third to last player, so there are 14 in the circle.

  2. Assume there are n player. since they 're spaced evenly and there someone that opposite an another, n must be an even number.

    then, the player number i (1<=i<=n) will be opposite to the player number i+n/2 (just think of your clock)

    player 5 opposite player 12 means

    12=5+n/2

    => n=14

  3. I'm not really good at these but I'll give it a shot! :D

    5 is 7 away from 12. Minus the person(s) So there are 6 people between #5 and #7.

    From 1 to 5, there are 4 people. 4+2=6 so there are two more people added to #12. SO I THINK. There are 14 people.

  4. There are 14 players in the circle!!!! It's very easy!!!!

    Player number 5 is directly opposite 12; this means that they both divide the cirlce into 2 equal halves. Now, there are 6 {players 6,7,8,9,10,11} between player's 5 & 12.

    There must be 6 players between player's 12 & 5 but this time; they must include the first 4 players {i.e, player's 1,2,3,4}.

    You need 2 more players after player 12 & they are players 13 & 14.

    This makes 6 players after 12 to get to player 5. Since you already know that you need 6 players to get from player 5 to 12; you now have your answer. In both cases you can prove the answer since players 5 & 12 will be exactly opposite each other, no matter which way you direction you go on the cirlce.

  5. 12-5= 7

    7x2= 14

    14players

  6. i think it's 14.  due to the distance between the 12 and the 5, and multiplying it by two for each pair, it comes to 14.

  7. Well the answer has to be an even number because ever player has to have a "partner". I just did trial and error and came up with the answer, which is 14 players. If you draw a circle with numbers, you will see each one lines up. But to test this theory and get an easier way to get the answer, you take the higher number 12, and subtract the smaller number 5 to get 7. multiply that times 2 and you will get the total number of players needed ... 14. I tried this equation to see how many players i would need to have number 24 and 8 be directly opposite eachother, and sure enough, it worked... you need 32.
