I'm putting up a border in 1 room of a company house and the border I want to purchase online is 5 yards per roll. Just wanted a possible estimate of how many rolls I would have to order. Thanks for any help!!!

  1. There are 36 inches in a yard;

    you need 5 yards, so it is 5 times 36 (180 inches).

    Why are you calculating it in inches???

    Measure the space to be bordered in yards. Then divide it by the 5 yd rolls to get the number of rolls needed.

  2. 5x3x12 = 180

  3. A yard is three feet = 36".

    36x5= 180"

  4. multiply 5x36=180

  5. 1 yard is 3 feet so 12 times 3 is 36 so 36times 5 is 180 so 180 inches
