makes no sense:

solve ln [y-1]=(-5)/x for y

[ ] = absolute value

and whats the domain for the solution?

  1. |y-1|= (-5)/x

    y-1 = (-5)/x

    y = (-5)/x + 1

    The domain is all of the possible values for x

    so it would be all real numbers except x can not equal zero ( because you can not divide by zero)

    I'm not 100% positive on this because I'm just getting off of summer break so still rusty in math, so make sure you double check my answer with someone else, but I've taken up through Honors Pre Calculus (grade 11)
