Mr. and Mrs. Thompson are putting up an invisible fence in their backyard to contain their dog.The yard is a 24-foot by 32-foot rectangle. The house is along the 32-foot side of the rectangle. The fenced-in are is bounded by the house on one side and the fence o the other three sides is a 4 feet in in from the edge of the yard. Draw a diagram and label the lengths of the fence. If the fencing compan charges a flat rate of $200 and $35 per foot of fencing explain how the Thompsons would calculate the cost of the fence.

$35[(32 - 4) + 2(24 - 2*4)] + $200

$35[28 + 2(16)] + $200
