  1. 102.50$

  2. (143.50/14)*10=$102.50

    find the hourly rate (143.50/14) then multiply by the number of hours worked (143.50/14)*10.

  3. when christine worked 14 hours divided by 143.50 = 10.25 per hour. If she works 10 hours x10.25=102.50

  4. 10/14*143.50 = $102.50

  5. the working hours and the income are directly proportional (if one increases, the other one increases also) therefore we have:

    14 hours = 143,5

    10 hours = x ( the amount of money she will receive).

    The formula says that x=(10*143,5)/14 (the diagonals in the formula over the remaining term). x= 1435/14 = 102,5.  Christine will receive only 102,50$ for the 10 hours that she will work. Good day!

  6. =14/10=143.50

    =143.50/14

    =102.50

    =$102.50

  7. Hi,

    14......143.50

    ----.=.-----------

    10....... x

    Cross-multiply to solve.

    14x = 1435

    x = 102.50

    Christine will earn $102.50 for 10 hours. <==ANSWER

    I hope that helps!! :-)

  8. Think in ratios. She worked 14 hours initially and works only 10 hours this week. Thus she would only earn a similar fraction

    10/14 x $143.50

    = $102.50
