Question

You're having t-shirts made for your high school basketball team. The cost of the shirts is as follows:

V-Printing charges $25 setup fee and $6.50 per shirt.

Samantha's Silk Screen charges $55 setup fee and $4.50 per shirt.

1.) Write a function for each company

2.) Compare companies and find the point at which the companies costs are the same.

3.) If you wanted 20 shirts printed, which company would be the better deal?

4.) If you wanted 10 shirts, which company would be the better deal?

V-Printing = 25 + 6.5x

Sams Silk=55+4.5x

Costs are the same at : 25+6.5x=55+4.5x

                                       2x=30

                                           x=15..at 15 t-shirts

20 shirts V: 25+6.5(20)                       S:55+4.5(20)

                     25+130 =  155                  55+90   = 145

Samantha's cheaper @ 20 shirts

10 shirts V: 25 +6.5(10)                       S: 55+4.5(10)

                      65+25=90                              55+45= 100

V-Printing cheaper @10 shirts

S(x)=4.5x+55

b)

6.5x+25=4.5x+55

2x=30

x=15

c) 20*6.5+25>20*4.5+55

so Sam's Silk

d)

10*6.5+25<10*4.5+55

so V-Printing

x=15 shirts

15 t shirts is there meeting place

25+ 6.50x = y

55+4.50x= y

55-25=30

6.50-4.50=2

30/2= 15

I haven't done this stuff in a long time and im not sure how it is supposed to be set up but Im almost sure the meeting place is 15 t-shirts based on this simple concept that  the v-printing is 2 dollars more than the samantha's silk screen per a shirt and the set up difference is 30 dollars so after 15 shirts they cost the same.
