  1. Group your like terms on the left:

    9m-14m+10= -5

    Combine the two terms with m in them

    -5m+10=-5

    Subtract 10 from both sides:

    -5m=-15

    Divide both sides by -5

    m=3

    _/

  2. They guy above me did everything right but mess up at the last step. You are suppose to divide both sides by -5.

  3. Okay first u need to combine like terms which would be 9m and -14m then -5 and 10. So what u will b left wirh is -5m and 5. After u will have to divide 5 by -5 then u will be left with your answer which is m=

    1.

  4. first, combine like terms:

    so, 9m+10-14m = -5 becomes -5m+10=-5

    the next step is to isolate the variable on one side of the equal sign. in order to do this, you must add or subtract the integer on that side to the other side. because this integer is a positve ten, we must subtract 10 from both sides.

    therefore, -5m+10=-5 becomes -5m= -15

    notice that the variable is still not by itself. in order to get it by itself, we must multiply or divide to get the m alone. because the -5 is multiplied by the m, we must divide both sides by negative 5.

    so, -5m= -15 is now m=3.

    i hope this helps, and that you can understand all of it.
