  1. You use the equation y - y' = m ( x - x' )

    The point you are given (2,1) = (x' , y')

    Plug everything in

    y - 1 = 0 ( x - 2 )

    Simplify

    y - 1 = 0

    y = 1

  2. The equation you need is y=mx+b.  So you plug in what you have 1=0*2+b and solve for b.  1=0+b.  1=b.  Then you can put it in standard form.  y=1.

  3. If the slope is 0, that means its a horizontal line. Therefore, the y is fixed and the so since it passes over (2, 1) the equation is y = 1

    If the slope is undefined, then that means its a vertical line. Therefore, the x is fixed. If it passes (2,1) then the equation is x = 2.

    When you have these types of questions, try to draw it out first and think about them logically.

    Good luck.

  4. y=mx+b

    m is slope = 0

    b is y intercept=1

    so.....y=0x+1.....so y=1

    its a horizontal line passing through y=1 on the y axis
