  1. Geometry is the primary mathematical tool.  Algebra and the other types of math are used for more precise measurement.


  2. Uhhhhh. Not really. There is more like alot of triginometry, and calculus. More advanced stuff.

  3. Depends on what you mean by "in astronomy".

    In a high schoo astronomy class you would only really use algebra and a little bit of geometry.

    If you are a reasearcher in astro-physics you would probably be using a fair amount of calculus.

  4. some algebra is used, but mostly is trig. and calc..

  5. I use calculus, trigonometry, algebra, planar and scalar topography (if you can call those math), and higher math using Riemannian spaces.  It depends largely on what you are researching.
