I'm really good with math in general, you're either right or wrong. I'm taking advanced math classes in college, but for the love of me I can't remember any of the sh*t I learned the semester before, simply, because I never use this stuff other then at school. I've even had a teacher tell me that I will never ever use some of the stuff we are learning in real life, so how the h**l am I supposed to remember this stuff if I'm not using it at least once in a while.
So to the people who are insanely good at math, how do you remember everything you learn?
I was talking to one teacher and she said that students from other countries spend far more time on a single subject than those in the United States, the way she described it was, our learning in math is very big, but very shallow. We cover a lot over a over a shot period of time, rather than spending a long time on one thing and learning it really well.
I got myself some memory improvement books and I'm hoping that will help, I just hate having to start each semester feeling like I have to relearn the math from the semester before. I'm guessing all I can really do is be pro-active and go over a few problems on my own every day?
