the equation is -7/5(t-15) - 1/2t

1st step: Do all calculations parentheses before operations outside. within

2nd step: Evaluate all exponential expressions

3rd step: Do all multiplications and divisions in order from left to right.

4th step: Do all additions and subtractions in order from left to right.

Thanks everyone. I just want to make sure I have each step right.

  1. Your order of steps is correct but you have no exponentials in your expression and the best you can do is to combine the fractions by making them have a common denominator.


  2. -7/5 * (t-15) - 1/2 * t,    

    -7/5t + 21 - 1/2t

    14/10t - 7/10t + 21

    7/10t + 21

    If by equation, you mean that it actually = something

    Then lets say that

    7/10t + 21 =0

    7/10t = -21

    t = -30
