1. 4z+11<9x-4

    4z<9x-15

    z<(9/5)x-(15/4)

You can't graph this on a number line, as there are two variables. Just replace the z with a y and graph it on the coordinate plane.

  2. You cannot solve a single equation with more than one unknown.

    Do you mean:

    4x + 11 < 9x - 4 ?

This can be solved and represented on a number line.

Solve it the same as if it was an equal sign, except if you multiply or divide by a negative number, you flip the sign, so:

    15 < 5x

    3 < x

    x > 3

You'd graph this on a number line by drawing a circle at the 3 and drawing a vector (or a arrowed line signifying infinity) to the right. The open circle means that 3 isn't part of the solution. If it was, x ≥ 3, then you'd use a solid dot.
