Math question: Compare A to B?

How do I go about solving this problem??

If a - b = a + b, compare: A. b B. 1

  1. idk, seems b would have to be 0 . . .

    so b < 1


  2. Subtract a from both sides: -b = b , so b = 0

    You're left with a = a  which is always true no matter what value a has.


  3. This may seem like a very tricky question, but it is not.

    If you look at both side of the equation, they both have a, if we minus a on both side, what is left?

    -b = + b

    that is only true when b is zero, and a could be anything, because 10 + 0 is the same as  10 -0, same goes for 20, or 30.
