  1. Bob ate = 1pie - Tim - Joe - Zack

    =1-1/3-1/4-1/6

    Make a common denomenator, which is 12

    =12/12-4/12-3/12-2/12

    =3/12 of the pizza

    =1/4

    The pie is $10 so he should pay 1/4 of this which is $2.50

  2. Bob ate 1 - 1/3 - 1/4 - 1/6 of the pizza

    = 12/12 - 4/12 - 3/12 - 2/12 = 3/12 = 1/4

    So he should pay 1/4 of the cost = $2.50

  3. These represent the percentage of pizza eaten.

    Tim's portion is x/3.

    Joe's portion is x/4.

    Zack's portion is x/6.

    Bob's portion is 100 - (x/3 + x/4 + x/6).

    100 - (x/3 + x/4 + x/6) = 10

    -(x/3 + x/4 + x/6) = -90

    -(4x + 3x + 2x)/12 = -90

    -9x/12 = -90

    -9x = -1080

    x = 120

    Tim's portion is x/3 or 120/3 = 40%

    Joe's portion is x/4 or 120/4 = 30%

    Zack's portion is x/6 or 120/6 = 20%

    Bob's portion is 100 - (x/3 + x/4 + x/6) or 100 - 90 = 10%

    10% × $10 = $1

  4. Its asking you what is 1/3 + 1/4 + 1/6.  Subtract that from one.

    By finding a common denominator, you get

    4/12 + 3/12 +2/12= 9/12, or 3/4.

    1-3/4 is 1/4, or 25% of the pizza.

    25% of $10.00 is $2.50, which is what Bob paid

    answer=$2.50
