Kuih Lapis ( layer cake) is a rich Kuih consisting of thin alternating layers (usually alternating red & white ) made of butter, eggs and sugar, piled on top of each other. Each layer is laid down and then steamed separately, making the creation of a kuih lapis an extremely laborious and time-consuming process.

A) Do you know how many eggs does it take to make a

delicious 1/2 kg of kuih Lapis?

B) If you are given the task to make 3 kg of kuih lapis, how

many eggs will you need?

C) Assuming that a 3 kg kuih lapis has 9 layers with 5 layers

of red & 4 layers of white. Calculate the number of eggs

required for the 5 layers of red, express your answer to the

nearest integer.

  1. A) Do you know how many eggs does it take to make a

delicious 1/2 kg of kuih Lapis?

I recommend 2 eggs, some may want three but two should suffice.

    B) If you are given the task to make 3 kg of kuih lapis, how

    many eggs will you need?

If the cake must be one whole 3 Kg cake, then you should use no more than 12 eggs, one dozen.

    C) Assuming that a 3 kg kuih lapis has 9 layers with 5 layers

of red & 4 layers of white. Calculate the number of eggs

required for the 5 layers of red, express your answer to the

    nearest integer.

To the nearest integer; perhaps I am no expert, but I see no reason to change the number of eggs simply because of the color of the cake.  My only other comment is why this may have been placed in the Primary and Secondary Education category.
