  1. for example, lets make x 1

    1^2 is 1

and  2^1 is 2  this does not work, so keep plugging in

2^2=2^2    <- - -  this is were x equals out the equation, so anything greater than 2 would make x^2 greater than 2^x

  2. Make a table and see if you can find a pattern.

    x^2  and 2^x

If x is 1, the results are 1 and 2.  Nope

If x is 2, they are equal (4 and 4). Nope

If x is 3, the results are 9 and 8.  WOOHOO!

If x is 4, the results are equal (16 and 16).  Nope

If x is 5, the results are 25 and 32.  Nope.

If x is 6, the results are 36 and 64.  Nope.

If x is 7, the results are 49 and 128.  Nope.

If x is 8, the results are 64 and 256.  Nope.

Hopefully, you can clearly see that the values will get further and further apart.  The only value is works for is 3.
