suppose there is this airplane with a ratio which is 1 in : 72 ft.

what is this answer in inches?

i found out it is 2.7 inches

BUT HOW I DONT GET it!??

  1. I'm guessing you mean a model is 1in:72 ft scale.

    You'll need to have the full-sized length of the plane in order to determine the length of the model.  (Or visa-versa)

    You can then use a ratio of:

    1/72 = m/r

    Where m is length of model in inches and r is length of the real plane in feet.

    Once you have one or the other, solve for the missing piece with cross-multiplication.


  2. you just multiply 72 ft. by 2.7 in. which is 194.4

    then you multiply 194.4 by 12 because there are 12 inches in 1 foot.

    that makes 2332.8 inches.

    It seems you are missing one key piece of data. The length of the plane.
