  1. (1) is true no matter what

    (2) is true as long as x is an integer.

  2. Both are correct.

  3. i think they are both true!

  4. 1 is true, 2 is not necessarily true

    1. if x is divisible by 3, then we can say x = 3n, where n is an integer

    x^2 = (3n)^2 = 9n^2, which is divisible by 9, and therefore divisible by 3

    2.  if x^2 is divisible by 3, then we can say that x^2 = 3n

    x = sqrt(3n), which is only divisible by 3 sometimes

    example that works:

    x^2 = 81

    x = 9 (both divisible by 3)

    example that doesn't work:

    x^2 = 27

    x = 3sqrt(3)

  5. basically you've asked a question regarding a factor of 3.........

    consider two integers either +ve or -ve say for eg 3 and 9

    9 is divisible by 3;whereas 3 is not divisible by 9;

    therefore 1 is true
