  1. For the first question, distribute.

    0.5 x (2x + 3/4) = x + 3/8

    -1/3 x (0.1 + x) = -1/30 + -1/3x

    so then it's x + 3/8 - 1/30 - 1/3x = 1

    put together like terms and it becomes 2/3x + 41/120 = 1

    then I subtract 41/120 from both sides so its 2/3x = 79/120

    then I multiply both sides by 3/2 to isolate x so its x = 237/240 or 79/80

For the second one, you know that both angles add up to 90 so you can write an equation

    x + (x+22) = 90

    2x + 22 = 90

subtract 22 from both sides and its 2x = 68

then divide both sides by 2 and its x = 34

so one angle measure is 34 and since together must equal 90 the other is 56
